Derbyshire Green Party is encouraging parents to find out if their children’s school faces the switch to academy status. Peter Allen, the candidate for High Peak in the last election, said, “We know that 13 schools in Derbyshire have so far expressed an interest, we fear that many more will be pushed to do so for fear [...] The Green Party Manifesto offered the electorate an economic programme that would reduce our national debt without cutting vital public services. I do not doubt the commitment and heroism of our active service troops. It is their leadership that needs to be questioned. They are being ordered into battle to prop up a corrupt regime in Afghanistan and are fighting to protect corrupt global economic interests and not peace, freedom and democracy.
