Patrick Ralph
Patrick has lived in Chesterfield for over twenty years and his three children were all born and raised here.
He has always been a ‘concerned enviornmentalist’ and recently decided to get involved in politics and give the sizeable silent minority of local green folk an opportunity to vote green in local elections. He stood in the Chesterfield Borough elections two years ago and received an impressive 290 votes without dong any campaigning!
He is an active member of Transition Chesterfield and lives a very ‘green’ lifestyle. He believes that being ‘green’ is not a hardship but a way of improving both physical and spiritual well-being. He believes that progress should be measured in terms of happiness and fulfillment rather than financial and material gains.
He wants all local government policies and actions to be imbued with environmental concern. He believes that looking after people and the planet are two sides of the same coin and that we need to rid politics of short-term financial and self-interested concerns and make Derbyshire a healthier, happier place.
