Health Rationing, perverted ConDem logic.

I was horrified to read a press report that stated that the Government was considering a new policy that could see the elderly denied treatment. NICE, the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, has been asked by the Department of Health to look at the guidelines covering the availability of drugs and treatments within the NHS. Their aim of course is to cut expenditure and to make the NHS a more attractive prospect to the private health providers that they want to see eventually take over health delivery in the UK.

The Government wants the decisions about making treatments available to take account of the ‘benefits the patient may have in society’, rather than to focus specifically on the welfare of the patient. I can understand that this perception would be frustrating for hard working people.
But we must face the reality rather than just blame the people with the least power in this country for the problems caused by the true elite that controls our…

Having a climate change denier as Minister for the Environment is beyond cynical, it is plain stupid and it calls into question David Cameron’s judgement. Now the Prime Minister is reaping some of the rewards for giving Owen Paterson the job. From the badger cull to the floods, Patterson has shown that he is clearly not up to being a Minister and he must go. The Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs’ (Defra), mandate is to ‘improve the environment and safeguard animal and plant health’. In his short time in charge Paterson has overseen the totally counter-productive cull of a protected species – the badgers - cut 1700 jobs from the Environment Agency, failed to act on flood protection, called for GM crops in the UK and expressed a wish to see fracking sites all over the countryside. In addition he has slashed the budget for climate change…
