The Green Party candidate for Matlock division is Christabel Holland
“I was born in Chesterfield hospital and raised in Birchover where I have lived all my life (bar universities). Over my 23 years of life I have grown an affinity to our local area and care passionately about a sustainable and eco-friendly future.
When elected, I would seek to address the climate emergency we now face. No matter where you live in the world, we can see real changes in our climate. It is for this reason we need urgent action.
On top of this, I will represent the voices of Matlock in planning and development ensuring future housing is sustainable and has a positive environmental effect, not a detrimental one.
Furthermore, I will promote the 20’s plenty campaign which addresses the issues of speeding in our local area. I will pay particular focus on encouraging this policy around schools, parks and heavily pedestrianised areas so local people feel safe and secure when walking in Matlock.
Children are our future, so I will address the current academisation proposals of Highfields and listen to all stakeholders involved. I believe passionately that education is a golden opportunity for young people and I will work to ensure that the future of education in Matlock is protected.
I believe in accountability and transparency, so I will always be open and honest about my views and will be on hand to represent Matlock’s voice.
If you want a young and energetic environmentalist on your County Council, please consider voting for me.”
